The community gathered at the Blue Rapids Museum on Saturday, September 26 for a Gypsum Mining presentation given by retired and current workers. Dennis Osborne started working at Georgia Pacific in 1966. He shared the history of working at the plants and his work experience. Valeria Adkins is the Safety and Environmental Coordinator and she went through safety equipment used at GP and the procedures they go through when there is an emergency. Alan Detmore is the Safety Lead out at GP and he talked about the equipment used in the mines.
